- Worms, Protozoa cysts (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Entamoeba): Rapidly killed at 55C / 131F
- Five minutes at 65C / 149F would cause at least a 99.999 percent (5 log) reduction in viable waterborne microbes capable of causing disease.
